I have a 10 months old baby who suffers from milk and egg allergy, so I have gotten really good at reading all kinds of food lables both for food for her and for me as I am also on a dairy and egg-free diet because I still breastfeed. I must admit that in this progress I have become a bit blind for other ingredients than egg and milk as I scan for those two ingredients. The other day I consentrated though when I read the porridge lable (Yes I am Blond
) and to my horror and shock I discovered they are packed with sugar!
I have come to the conclution that this must be some kind of conspiracy! Someone out there want to get the very smallest citizens of the UK hooked on sugar. Please tell me if there is a breakfast porridge I am not aware of for babies enriched with iron and vitamins. At the moment I am carrying loads of such porridge in my luggage everytime I come from Norway, I guess someone is soon going to accuse me of smuggeling.

Smuggling porridge? Be careful you don't up doing 'porridge' (going to jail)
... lol

I have to admit I just fed mine straight porridge oats (no added nothing). I kind of reckoned that he got all the vitamins etc he needed from breastmilk anyway.
I'm a bit of a heathen where vitamins for kids is concerned - I kind of think if they get a balanced diet they'll get the vitamins they need.
The Organix range was good when I was at that stage - I know they do banana porridge, not sure what vitamins etc is in there though. And they might have changed the formula.
And YES, there is a conspiracy to get little children hooked on sugar - check out the vile jarred food, breakfast cereals etc.
